Closing out the month of April with a bang, Trousdale kicked off their Growing Pains Tour at the Foundry on April 30. Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene, and Lauren Jones, in their signature green, pink, and blue brought a powerhouse of amazing vocals and positive energy to their beaming fans. According to Trousdale it was, “the most vocally challenging set we’ve ever done in the history of our lives.”
The Trousdale trio had a very special trio of three independent artists: Buffchick, Beane, and Nia Ashleigh, open the show. They each had their name on a sign by their spot on stage, yet they blended and collaborated seamlessly. As one artist sang, the two not singing at the moment seemed to genuinely be enjoying and grooving along to the music. At times they would sing together, and the three voices beautifully formed one soothing and happy sound.

It was clear from the jump that the Trousdale women are the best of friends. As they filled the space with the lyrics and notes they created together with Quinn on keys, Georgia on lead vocals with a tambourine, and Lauren on guitar they complemented each other perfectly. Their long-lasting friendship was especially highlighted as they performed “Do Re Mi,” a song written in their early college days, in three-part harmony.
The lyrics of their music covered the highs, lows, and laughs of the growing pains life brings with love, heartbreak, and even common frustrations. Quinn described an encounter she had on a flight from Boston to LA, which ultimately inspired the song “Save Me” on the Growing Pains album. A man sitting near her with his legs spread “like a business magazine of some sort ended up giving me unsolicited advice about my band that he had never heard of before,” said Quinn. Through true Trousdale magic, the unpleasant situation was transformed into a relatable song the crowd had fun singing along.

The audience of the show exuded excitement and delight as they soaked in the playful rhythms, dazzling vocals, and sparkly outfits on stage. People either had their eyes closed as they smiled enjoying the sounds, or had their eyes transfixed on stage marveling at the sight. After every song, the crowd came to life with applause as people shouted, “We love you!” The energy of the crowd was genuinely very wholesome and overwhelmingly positive. If the energy wasn’t high already, the entire room seemed to lift as Trousdale sang the first words to a medley of songs from the musical, Wicked. Everyone sang along “Defying Gravity” with their strongest voices, truly making the music soar.
Incredibly talented and easy to enjoy, Trousdale put on an incredible performance that left their fans smiling ear to ear and humming the music and they exited the venue at the end. Paying forward the abundant goodness of the Growing Pains tour, a dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to help those affected by the LA wildfire devastation.
