REVIEW: MIRADOR at The Theater of Living Arts

REVIEW BY: Maggie Barry

In the air-conditioned venue, things quickly heated up when the band MIRADOR stepped onto the stage with a fierce entrance. The band made their stop at The Theater of Living Arts on Sept. 20, 2025, at 9:00 pm. While the wait was long, anticipated by the audience due to the openers finishing 35 minutes before, the main act eventually came on, and cheers roared when the confident band members came out one by one, each with their own distinct long hairstyle.

With the band’s self-titled debut album, titled MIRADOR, coming out only a day before the concert, it was shocking to hear the crowd already yelling the lyrics a mere 24 hours later. The band had come out with singles before their debut album, granting the band around 47,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

MIRADOR’s stage presence was noticeable throughout the concert. Jake Kizka from the band Greta Van Fleet captivated the eyes and ears of the crowd with his immense talents, with just his guitar and singing. The other guitarist and lead singer, Chris Turpin, from the band Ida Mae, also infatuated the crowd with his stage presence and skills.

The drummer, Mikey Sorbello, and bassist/keyboardist, Nick Pini, were a bit less interactive with the fans who were screaming and cheering for them. However, both quieter members still shocked the audience with their dedication to the instruments.

The energy that was transferred back and forth between the audience and the band was riveting to watch and listen to. While the actual sound of the microphone was a bit scratchy and my ears were completely shot halfway through the show, headbanging was still a necessity from the music.

The track list was impressive and carefully planned. MIRADOR had selected the pattern of upbeat to a more folk-y tune, which resulted in the audience raising their arms and swaying them side to side, even without instruction from the band. The devoted crowd was seemingly enjoying themselves to the maximum amount that someone could enjoy a concert. The members sounded astonishing and did not seem like they had started only a year ago.

Whenever the next opportunity arises for anyone to go see the new band, MIRADOR, take the opportunity.
