Passing Bye Temple Football
Well anyway you’d like to categorize the new look of Matt Rhule’s Temple Owls, they are winless as they enter their bye week. Even with a promising showing at Notre Dame, a nail biter vs Houston and a heartbreaker to Fordham, the gods of football have shown no mercy on the Cherry and White. So as we sit and reflect on a disappointing start to what many labeled as a “rebuilding year” one cannot raise the question, “Will this team win a game this season?” It is a fair interrogative to examine. With a sub par offense and a young defense that has been at best, mediocre, the Owls enter the toughest part of their schedule, AAC play. A betting man would probably suggest the only real chance Temple has of winning this season is next weekend at Idaho. After that, they face the juggernaut Louisville Cardinals, as well as marquee names like Rutgers, Cincinnati, and UConn. This Temple team has been everything but predictable. It sure will be an interesting rest of the season coming off the bye.
