A Birthday Party for Rad Dish Co-op

On Feb. 12, Temple University’s Rad Dish Co-Op, located in Ritter Hall, celebrated its one year anniversary with an open mic night, cake, and good company.
Rad Dish first opened its doors on Feb. 5, 2014 after “a few ambitious Temple students dreamed of a food co-op on campus,” according to their website, while striving to “provide access to our community to local, organic, ethical, and humane food options.”
During this birthday party, nearly 75+ people attended to hear the vocals and instrumentals of Temple’s musically inclined students. Justin Roth, freshman at the University, has participated in previous open mic nights at the Rad Dish and continued that streak by playing at the birthday party as well. Roth keeps coming back because he “loves the atmosphere and the message the Co-op spreads.”
Temple’s Rhetoric and Public Advocacy club also set up a table at the birthday party, where attendees could make their own trail mix and learn more information on the RPA club.
The musical night ended with singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the Co-op, red velvet cake, and vegan, gluten free cupcakes from the Happy Hippie food truck on campus. Next time you have a gap in between classes, check out the Rad Dish in Ritter Hall for healthy, wholesome grub.
