The 15th Annual Health and Wellness Fair took place in Mitten Hall this past Wednesday.
Benefits and Absence Management, Human Resources, and TotalWellness made the event possible.
The fair gave opportunities for faculty and staff to learn more about the TotalWellness program, as well as meet Temple providers and outside vendors.
During the fair, there were opportunities to win points towards the TotalWellness Award, which remains open to Temple employees and staff throughout the year. Employees and staff can earn rewards valued up to $500.
Outside vendors included CVS Caremark, Blue Cross, and Family Food nutrition counseling.
Temple was represented by the Bike Program, Dental School, Employee Health Services, and others to answer questions.
Other activities at the event included mini massage sessions, fitness demos, jeopardy games, and biometric screenings. In addition, oral, head, and neck cancer screenings were provided.
Gerry O’Kane, director of Temple University’s Wellness Center, believed that this fair was helpful to Temple University employees.
“[Employees can] learn about benefits and have preventative screenings done, and everything’s free for the day,” O’Kane said.
The TotalWellness program brings tools and resources essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
