Chase Atlantic delivered a powerhouse performance on October 30th at The Met. From the moment the band took the stage, it was clear this was going to be an unforgettable night.
The band’s high-octane performance was amplified by the immersive, gothic stage design. Dark, horror-inspired visuals projected behind the band, setting a haunting, atmospheric mood. Ambient lighting further matched the vibe of the music, with intense, colorful flashes accentuating the energy of each song. The addition of pyrotechnics and a dynamic floral backdrop for tracks like FAVELA created a fully immersive experience that transported the audience into another world. It was a fitting atmosphere for a show that blended rock, jazz, and ambient influences.
The band was in a variety of costumes to begin the halloween festivities. Their playful energy was contagious as they bounced between more introspective, groovy moments and hard-hitting rock anthems. Whether they were making sure the crowd knew this was the night of their lives or prompting fans to throw up the iconic “rockstar” hand sign, it was clear they were there to give their audience everything.
Chase Atlantic’s setlist covered a broad range of their discography, showcasing both the evolution of their sound and their ability to keep things fresh. Highlights included a mix of rock-driven anthems with moments of atmospheric groove, but the real treat was the inclusion of five unreleased tracks from their upcoming album, set to drop November 1st. The new songs were well-received, with the crowd already singing along to every word, a testament to the band’s loyal following and the tracks’ immediate impact.
The performance of OHMAMI was a standout, with the addition of live saxophone giving the song a rich, jazzy feel. The jazz component throughout the night added a unique layer, most notably in SWIM where a flame-and-wave-inspired screen intensified the mood. The sax was also a key player during Mess Me Up, adding smooth, sultry vibes to the performance as the venue lit up with phone lights.
Beauty in Death was another crowd favorite and mine, its emotive sound reverberating through the venue. The night had its share of throwbacks too, like Into It, which brought fans back to the band’s 2017 sound. Meanwhile, tracks like Okay and Heaven and Back showcased their versatility: Okay featured a call-and-response moment where the band had the crowd jump in sync with the beat, and Heaven and Back was more of a groovy, laid-back vibe reminiscent of their earlier days.
The band’s interaction with the crowd was seamless and full of heart. They made sure the audience knew that they weren’t just performing—they were sharing a night together. There was a connection, with band members regularly stopping to speak with the audience, getting everyone hyped, and even prompting fans to make noise for themselves.
At one point, they took a brief intermission, during which new-age music played through the speakers, giving fans a chance to catch their breath before diving back into the high-energy show.
Chase Atlantic’s show at The Met was a testament to their growth as artists and performers. The seamless mix of genres, infectious stage presence, and engaging visuals made it a night to remember. If there was one downside, it’s that the show was so loud at times, so don’t forget your earplugs! But even with the volume cranked up, it’s hard to imagine a more electric, immersive performance. From the sax solos to the chaotic energy of the crowd, this show proved that Chase Atlantic isn’t just a band; they’re an experience.
