The Bouncing Souls Release Song for Inauguration Day
New Jersey punk rockers The Bouncing Souls are back with the release of a new song, “Battleground,” debuted on Jan.20: the day of President Trump’s inauguration. This is the first song that the band has released since its tenth studio album, “Simplicity,” this past July.
“Battleground” fuses hope and inspiration with heartfelt compassion. The Bouncing Souls do not typically enter into the political arena, but this is a hard hitting song about America as the nation enters an uncertain future.
Greg Attonito’s soaring vocals reach out for protection of human rights and urge us to “fight for humanity, the people of the world are one family.” Performing “Battleground” will surely become an emotional moment at The Bouncing Souls’ future live shows.
The Bouncing Souls are positivity punk rockers, and “Battleground” keeps consistent with the band’s style. The song extends the call to all to fight for your rights and protect your freedom with the lyrics “love will win this fight.”
A portion of the proceeds for “Battleground” will be donated to the Indigenous Environmental Network, a group opposing the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
