Montreal-based band Corridor makes their long awaited return after five years with the release of “Mourir Demain,” the first track from their upcoming album Mimi, set to be out on Sub Pop on 4/26.
The track opens with airy acoustic guitar, creating repetitive patterns for the weightless singing of vocalist Jonathan Robert to weave through as the song ties itself together. Robert’s vocals are soothing, coating the harshness of the lyrics that explore the looming idea that as we age, we must plan our death: an unpleasant privilege.
Mourir Demain is a musical balm for the dormant sting of aging.
