Having a rich history of great MC’s there are so many to name. However, one in particular has recently taken the entire world by storm.

Kendrick Lamar ended 2015 on a high note. His album, “How to Pimp a Butterfly,” was nominated for 11 Grammys, which is only second to “The King of Pop” himself, Michael Jackson.

Only a few weeks into the new year, here he is meeting the president of the United States, President Barack Obama. I guess the president heard Lamar say, “Obama what it do” on his most recent album.

As a firm supporter of Kendrick Lamar, I must say I was very pleased with his second studio album, “How to Pimp a Butterfly.”

Each song was consumed as pure motivation to my soul.

Songs like “I” and “How much a Dollar Cost” were songs with so much substance. He also said at the time on New York City radio station Hot 97, ““I” was the best song I’ve ever wrote.”

I feel like by him coming from a real dangerous city like Compton, he speaks to the people and most importantly the kids that may feel hopeless. He is someone that we need in the culture of Hip Hop.
