Preview: Icarus and RigJuice to Perform for Rocktober

The votes are in! And the winners of the 2024 Rocktober, Icarus and RigJuice, will play a sensational show tonight at Philly Style Pizza at 7 PM. 

Before tonight’s show, here is a little about the artists who are going on.

RigJuice

Formed in 2022, RigJuice has a sound that rumbles North Philly for the better. Their iconic rock sound comes from their three main group members, Nick Petruso on guitar and vocals, Milos Machalek on bass and background vocals, and Alex Bollacker on drums

Additionally, Bollacker plays in the group, New Galena, who won WHIP’s Rocktober the previous year. 

Originally, the group started off playing as a cover band, performing songs as a tribute to the Cartoon Network show, Regular Show. However, they have since evolved into producing their own original music and sound.

Icarus

Well known in the area for its true funk rock pattern, Icarus holds an emphasis on their personal sound of rhythm and blues. 

This group of four come from all walks of life and together, they form their funkadelic tone. 

Lead guitarist, Jack Ditt, and rhythm guitarist, Will Dawson’s smooth guitar licks add to the group’s amazing sound quality. Dawson can also be heard on lead vocals for the group.

Both Stephen White on drums and Aidan Crotty on bass aid in keeping the grooving sound of Icarus.
