MGMT frontman Andrew VanWynGarden kicks off the Philadelphia concert at Electric Factory with “Little Dark Age.” Simon O’Connor, touring musician stands in as lead Bassist for MGMT’s 2018 Little Dark Age tour. Benjamin Goldwasser, one of the founding members of MGMT plays lead keyboard during their second song of the night, “When You Die,” at Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Pa. ames Richardson has been a touring member for MGMT since 2008. At their Philadelphia tour stop, Richardson plays drums and backup vocals for the synth-pop band. MGMT amps up the Electric Factory crowd on “Time to Pretend,” their third song of the night. Green lights fall down on the American rock band’s founders, VanWynGarden and Goldwasser, as they play one of their more popular tracks, “Time to Pretend.” MGMT’s fourth-studio album, Little Dark Age, was released February 2018. VanWynGarden (pictured) claims that the album is influenced by America’s current political state, and what it means to be an American. Throughout playing “Time to Pretend,” images of gore and blood were visible on the stage’s screens, which can be seen behind Richardson, drummer of MGMT.
